For those who missed our earlier “FOLK CELLO” program or who want to see this thrilling concert again, Fairlee Community Arts is presenting Classicopia at the beautifully renovated and air-conditioned Fairlee Town Hall.  This program features South African cellist Jacques-Pierre Malan and pianist/Artistic Director Daniel Weiser and will highlight the various folk influences in music for cello and piano, including the passionate Cello Sonata by Edvard Grieg filled with Norwegian tunes; Piazzolla’s amazing Le Grand Tango; and the little known, but very exciting, Five Pieces on Georgian Folk Themes by Sulkhan Tsintsadze. All the pieces are powerful, intense, rhythmic, and filled with beautiful and memorable melodies. Malan has performed around the world and is currently the Artistic Program Coordinator for the Embassy Series, which aims to unite people through musical diplomacy through regular performances at embassies from all over the world. Dr. Weiser is a former Artistic Ambassador of Music and has performed in over 20 different countries. You will not want to miss this concert!
