Celebrate Mother’s Day all month long with this wonderful program of piano trios by some powerful, but neglected women composers including Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn, Louise Farrenc, Cecile Chaminade, and more. All wrote some incredible beautiful and lyrical pieces that have sadly been left out of the standard repertoire. As Fanny once wrote about her struggles to be recognized as a composer: “When one never encounters either objective criticism or goodwill, one eventually loses the critical sense needed to judge one’s work, while at the same time losing the wish to create it. I am thus more or less alone with my music. The pleasure it gives me and my husband stops me from going to sleep entirely and given the total absence of external encouragement, I construe my persistence as a pr0of of talent.” The fantastic siblings Emmanuel (violin) and Frances (cello) Borowsky will join pianist/Artistic Director Daniel Weiser in this exciting concert.
SORRY! THIS CONCERT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19. HOPE TO RESCHEDULE IN FUTURE
