Foster, Joplin, Gershwin, Copland, Bernstein, and more

Join Classicopia for a wonderful program highlighting the incredible diversity and energy of American music. Violinist Tim Schwarz and pianist/Artistic Director Daniel Weiser, formerly known as the Upper Valley Duo, will take audiences on a wonderful historical journey from the folk music of Stephen Foster to the African-American Spirituals; from the Ragtime of Scott Joplin to the Blues of W.C. Handy; from the Native-American work of Charles Cadman to the Jewish-American inspired Ernest Bloch and George Gershwin; and from the Hoe-Down of Aaron Copland to the Latin-inspired music of Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story. This concert will reveal the power of the great American melting pot, highlighting the incredible variety of musical influences from around the world that have helped to shape our true American Sound

Our newest venue in a beautifully renovated Church in Contoocook, NH. Kristie and Douglas Doll are dear friends from the Asheville area who hosted several concerts there and also in Santa Fe, New Mexico when they moved out west Now, they are in New Hampshire and looking forward to hosting our Classicopia programs in this incredible venue with a very open seating area and great acoustics. It really still looks like a Church on the outside so be careful that you don’t drive by it. Admission is only $40pp for adults and half price for children. The doors will open at 6:00 with concert beginning closer to 7:00. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks (wine/water) will be served.

Join us at this very special home in Norwich/White River Junction. Dr. Bauman is a terrific host with a perfect acoustical space for house concerts with beautiful decks. He also makes some delicious food and has drinks as well. His address of 221 Newton Lane in White River Junction is on Google Maps. Once you get on Newton Lane, look for the red painted mailbox with birds and the number 221 on it, take right turn about 10 feet past the mailbox and proceed up his very long (and slightly bumpy so go slowly) driveway. Our “home” Church where we have performed many concerts over the past several years. A great acoustical space and terrific piano plus a very welcoming Church community that offers a reception after the concert.
