An exciting program of Russian and Slavic music for cello and piano as well as four-hand piano featuring the incredible Rachmaninoff Cello Sonata and his beautiful Vocalise.   Also includes Dvorak's Slavonic Dances
 
Cecylia Barczyk, cello, has achieved international recognition as an artist, successful teacher, and humanitarian. She has given concerts, recitals, and master classes throughout Europe, Asia, North and South America and has appeared as a soloist with prominent orchestras around the world. As the Warsaw Life wrote: "One could write a long story about Cecylia Barczyk’s unrestrained technique, beautiful sound, musical sensitivity, and unlimited creativity. . . . She is a virtuoso in every way!” She has frequently performed on radio and television and has recorded much of the standard and new cello literature on the Muza, ICRecords, Melodya, Relief, and CRS labels. She won prizes in prestigious music competitions including the Danczowski Cello Competition (Poznan), Pablo Casals Cello Competition (Budapest), Tchaikovsky Competition (Moscow), Aldo Parisot International Cello Competition (Brazil), J.S. Bach International Competition (Leipzig), Cassado International Cello Competition (Florence), and W.C. Byrd Young Artists Competition (Michigan). She is on the faculty of Towson University and directs the annual International Cello Festival. In 2003 she was appointed Artistic Director of the International Music Institute and Festival USA 
 
Elizabeth Borowsky, piano,​ enjoys a versatile musical career as pianist, composer, recording artist, educator, and speaker. She has been a featured performer in over thirty countries, including distinguished venues such as Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, China Concert Hall of Tianjin, Beethoven House (Bonn) and Bosendorfer Hall (Vienna).  She has performed as soloist with orchestras world­wide, and her compositions have been performed in several different countires including China, Cuba, and Israel.   CD and DVD recordings, including an all­ Chopin recording, are available under the Intermuse label. Ms. Borowsky has earned a reputation as an enthusiastic, dedicated, and effective instructor and has taught at Indiana University Bloomington, Morgan State University, Towson University and the Maryland Conservatory of Music as well as presenting masterclasses across the globe. She is founder and director of Piano Prodigies LLC, a unique approach to private piano instruction that focuses on holistic artistic and personal development of each student. She frequently presents workshops on topics including yoga for musicians, improvisation, performance artistry, and solo/chamber music. Since 2010, she has held the position of Executive Director of the Intermuse International Music Institute and Festival USA, a summer chamber music program for exceptional young musicians.

Dartmouth viola teacher Marcia Cassidy and her son, violinist David Horak, the only Vermont resident
