The Johann Strauss Family in History and Music
Johann Strauss Family
Two generations of Viennese composers produced some of the most memorable music of the 19th Century despite a family atmosphere riven with tension, feuds, and jealousy. Through personal and political chaos, the Strauss family composed hundreds of waltzes and polkas that remain favorites. Dr. David Bisno and a small chamber orchestra led by Daniel Weiser, the artistic director of Classicopia, will weave the Strauss family story into a dynamic narrative featuring classic compositions by both the elder and younger generations of the Strauss family.  Professional dancers will waltz and Viennese pastries provided.  Audience will be invited on stage to dance at the end of the night.   Enjoy a fabulous dinner beforehand at five area restaurants that will be doing special Viennese dinners:   Canoe Club, Molly's, PINE, and Market Table in Hanover as well as Carpenter & Main in Norwich.   Buy your seats below now!
